When the club is right above your head, you are considered to be in the final stages of the backswing. At this point make note of these body positions – 1) Weight should be on the right foot, 2) Left arm to be straight and right arm to be folded to your side, 3) Hips to turn at an angle of 45 degrees and shoulders at 90 degrees.
Release of built up power is important for people to hit the ball well. Basically, this built up power is accumulated during the backswing stage, post which you will find the body uncoiling well to allow people to release the energy within.
So, what really is the importance of following through while playing golf. Two advantages can be observed here – 1) You tend to have the momentum, and importantly, you save yourself from injuries, which you could get if you stop your shots.
