Srixon golf balls are known for using some of the most advanced technology in golf ball structure in the market today. Each ball has a thin layer of resilient soft Rabalon HR surface. And the core is made with a measured resilient Energetic Gradient Growth. Professional golfers Jim Furyk, Tim Clark and Laura Davies use Srixon in their tours.

However, due to its state of the art techniques, Srixon golf balls are probably the one of the most expensive products in the market today. The budget tight golfer may shun away from this brand.

The different Srixon golf balls

As of the moment, there are seven Srixon golf ball series, Z Star X, Z Star, Trispeed, AD 333, Soft Feel, and Soft Feel Lady and the latest, Z-UR. Each has different number of layers designed to enhance trajectory, spin flight and speed.

AD 333 balls have thinner softer cover with a large core. This allows it to pierce the air, elevated trajectory and lands a thin angle in any wind condition. Its 333 dimples enhanced its aerodynamics.

The Trispeed edition has numerous layers that boost speed and velocity. This is perfect for those with soaring launch angle and low-spin launch conditions. They’ll be able to make greater distance and a tighter dispersion on miss-hits.

Z-Star induces a forceful ball flight in a far off distance. It drives a spin so fast and unrestrainedly you could feel it tear the wind apart. Its fast aerodynamics is caused by its 324 dimples. Its version 2, Z-Star X, seems same but has a better core.

The Soft Feel edition has a more durable core, which gets softer towards the center. It has greater speed and lower spins.

Lastly, Z-UR has combined all efficient Srixon technologies. It features an incredible membrane-thin urethane elastomer cover surrounding an Energetic Gradient Growth core. The core delivers amazing flexibility and initial ball velocity with low spin.

Help Your Golf Swing, Help Your Golf Score

Most golfers will say the hardest part of their game is focus. The mental side of golf is often misunderstood. Do you have a friend that golfs well on every round? Why is that? Practice, they practice. What they don’t tell you, is what they practice at. When you are talking about a game that is referred to as 90% mental and 10% talent you have to work on your mental toughness. When overcoming that mental side of golf, do you try to change your equipment, the time at which you play, maybe even they guys you play with. Here we go, some tips that are going to help get you on your way to being a better golfer.

The tempo of golf is often a distraction for golfers, you are stuck behind a slow foursome DISTRACTING or maybe the guys behind you are rushing you DISTRACTING and you feel that pressure to golf faster. The tempo of the course should never affect the tempo of your swing. The tempo of your swing is so important; to achieve the desired results. How do I find MY tempo you ask? A golfer can find their tempo by doing these simple things:

SLOW DOWN!! People often think that if they can swing faster and hit the ball harder they will get results, this is not the case at all. SLOW DOWN and focus on YOUR tempo not the tempo of the game. This is true is some instances, but, for the sake of this article we will not be discussing those concepts. The tempo we are going to discuss today, is going to deal with how you approach every single shot in your game, you need to have the same back swing, contact, and follow through on every swing. How are you going to practice this TEMPO? Go to the driving range and practice with one club at a time. First hit 20 range balls with your driver, next hit 20 range balls with your 9 iron, Next your 3 wood and your 8 iron follow this method until you have hit every club in your bag. To perfect your back swing come to the same position every time. No matter what club you are using the ball wants to be hit in the same place at the same speed every time. People often think that the club should dictate your tempo, this could not be further from the truth. If you focus on your tempo you will see that by swinging all of your clubs the same your accuracy will improve drastically. When you are working on your follow through it will be the same as your back swing, you will want it to be the same with every club. How you follow through directly affect your accuracy. When you focus on these three techniques you will find that your mental game will improve.

After you have put in your work at the range, head on over to start working on your chipping. Start by working with your wedges, then move on to you short irons. Practice 100 chips with each club. Start with your wedges in the deeper grass and focus not on getting in the hole but just putting the ball on the green. When chipping just focus on your tempo, using the same stroke every time. Remember chipping should be another tool in your arsenal and not the final result. Many careers have been made from singles and doubles hitters it is not just the home run hitters that decide how games turnout. Stay focused and you will hit the green every time. The 8i and 9i will be used to work out the tempo of the bump and run technique. Tempo is still your main focus you are just using a club for a different shot, the tempo is still the same though. Find your tempo and stick with it!! It would be like you are still hitting one of your wedges, you change clubs not the tempo!!

Putting Putting Putting! This is not rocket science but yet very misunderstood? We have now gone from Driving range tempo to chipping tempo to putting tempo the TEMPO does not change only the environment. While practicing don’t worry about how far or where the ball goes work on keeping your tempo the same every time. You are never going to change your swing for a putt. The only part about putting that changes is the distance. Start by sinking 10 putts in a row from 1ft away after you have done this, move out to 2ft, repeat until you sink 10 in a row from 10ft away. Keep the same tempo.

The goal for these exercises is to teach your to go through the same steps every time. You are trying to create a tempo that you are going to follow, now matter what is going on around you. If you focus on the tempo you will see results!! If you want the proven results of the pros you need to create a time line in your mind (90% mental) that you will follow no matter where you are, or whom you are playing with. When your body starts to do the same thing every single time, your mind will become more focused on the task at hand.

Add Yards To Your Drives - Fix Golf Slice

November 15th, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

Studies reveal over 80% of all amateur golfers slice the ball.  There have been more training aids, drills and tips to fix the golf slice that I can’t even begin to count. Fix golf slice is a thought on many amateur golfers’ minds.

What a frustrating situation!  Do you realize what’s causing your golf slice? If you hit a golf slice, have you taken lessons; bought any training aids, and done several drills only to still hit a slice?

Upon first thought, this may seem like a mechanical issue.  And it is…but if you dig a little deeper, you’ll find it’s a ‘physical’ issue. A golf slice is caused by the clubface coming across the ball from outside the target line, creating side-spin on the ball.

You see…your body dictates your ability to swing the club efficiently.  If your body has ‘physical limitations’, your swing will not be mechanically sound and swing faults will appear.

In the golf swing there are many compensations for lack of proper mechanics.  If you can’t make a 90 degree shoulder turn on the backswing, you’ll do whatever it takes to feel like you are making a full turn.

A good example of this would be to rotate your hips beyond the desired 45 degrees to enable your body to make a full backswing.  What this does is rob you of power.  You have no torque built up in your core to unleash into the ball at impact.

A golf slice is caused by the upper body getting ahead of the lower body, creating an “over-the-top” move, which in turn results in your clubface slashing across the ball and creating side-spin.  Here comes the banana ball!

Your first inclination will be to take a lesson to fix this.  If that doesn’t work, you might buy a training aid.  If that doesn’t work you’ll buy an “offset” driver to help eliminate your golf slice.

Now the real answer!  Take a break on your lessons.  Don’t buy anymore training aids.  And keep your normal driver in your bag.

You need to work on you core rotational flexibility to be able to initiate the downswing with your lower body first, to avoid the upper body getting ahead of it.  It’s that simple.  The minute your able to separate the upper and lower body upon initial move down…you’ll see that golf slice improve dramatically.

Along with fixing your golf slice, you’ll add up to 30 yards to your drives.  You will get more roll when the ball lands from a draw ball flight.  A golf slice is a weak shot that does not penetrate the air for maximum distance.

You will not experience compensations on the golf course anymore. All of my programs, dvds, and books focus on core rotational strength and flexibility which will improve your power output and eliminate swing faults.

You will finally eliminate the thought, “fix golf slice”. When you work on your “machine”, your golf swing takes care of itself!

Do you know that Golf is invented in Scotland?

October 22nd, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

Golf was invented in Scotland, and dates back to at least the 17th century, possibly even earlier – the name is believed to come from an Old German word, ‘gowf’, meaning a club or bat. There are many vary old golf courses in Scotland, most famously St. Andrews, but The oldest golf course in the world is Musselburgh Links . It is believed that the reason golf courses today have 18 holes is that St. Andrews only had room for nine, but the early golfers decided to play the course through twice each time.

Golf’s Scottish origin is a matter of some controversy among the Dutch, the Chinese and the French, who all claim that they had much similar club-and-ball games much longer ago. However, it seems clear that there is more to golf than just the club and the ball, and that golf as it is played today was at least perfected, if not entirely invented out of thin air, in Scotland, while there is no doubting they did.

Since then, little has really changed about the game. The grass has got shorter & smoother, as lawnmower technology has improved, the wooden clubs have been replaced with metal ones, and the balls have been improved by the addition of rubber, but that’s about it.

However, that golf really started to spread all over the world, it wasn’t until the 20th century. There was no golf courses in China until 1985, but now there are more than 200. Golf has become insanely popular in Japan, even though they don’t really have the space to build the courses – they have become pioneers of indoor and virtual golf, since the Second World War . Although some countries obviously have far more courses than others, particularly in the English-speaking world, today, it is thought that there are over 30,000 golf courses in the world – that’s well over a hundred for every country.

Golf Tips: Hitting a Longer Drive

When it comes to tips for hitting a golf ball, one of the best tips for hitting a golf ball that you can get involves hitting a longer drive. This is one of the most sought after skills in the game of golf, because after all, the longer your drive the better off you are going to be in any game, as long as you are good with accuracy.

First you are going to need to buy a driver club that is going to best suit your golf swing, and also get some balls. Make sure that you stick with a well known brand of ball and one that fits into your budget of course. There are many different brand names that are available but basically whatever you choose, you just want to make sure that it has 100 compression.

Improve your New Golf Swing the Easy Way

August 19th, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

Learning the backswing prepared you for the downswing.  The action of controlling the backward movement and releasing the power has you ready to understand how to improve your golf swing.

Well trained hands and development of the upper arm leverage is a recognizable value.

From the left foot up to the hips, your lower body on the downswing is in full lateral movement that is all controlled by the left foot.  The backswing had no lateral movement, but it is very important in the downswing.  Just keep this movement in the lower body and avoid letting the head in which can do harm to your swing.

The triple combination to learn for the downswing involves three movements.  You will have the lateral shift, the driving downwards with the hands and left arm at the start of the downswing, and the club being brought down BEHIND the hands and not being allowed to climb over them.

These movements set you up for a good movement into the golf ball where the club head accelerates into the hitting area.

This combination will make the movement into the ball.  It is something you must master and working to learnt he triple combination will let you do just that.

Once achieved, you will start to get the feel.  Once you have the feel it will stay with you and lead you through the swing.  Once here there is no stopping you from getting better.

The build up of power in the hands and wrists is over and held when you reach the hitting area.

Through the whole movement the elbow is passive.  It will disrupt the action otherwise.  Just keep the elbow in line to assure the arm can move as it needs.  The things that kept your right arm in power on the golf backswing will now guide your left arm in the downswing.

The combination will handle your shoulder.  You should not have an issue with the common problem of the shoulder leading too early.  Keep them back and you will do fine.   A slight delay will allow you to do that.

The hips shift during the movement, but it should be natural.  They move as they are supposed to in order to get out of the way.

If you are someone who tends to dwell on the hips, though, understanding how it all works can help.
The hips moved back in the backswing and now are part of the lateral movement of the lower body.  Make sure that you avoid the tendency for the right hip to move out.  The downswing should be a reversal of the movement during the backswing.

The shoulders, hands and club head are going into the last movement at the right speed and angle.  Everything should be positioned to follow through without pushed force.  The triple combination allows the hands the momentum to release the power at just the right direction and along the line of flight.

Regularly practiced, this crucial part of the new golf swing can be mastered.

The Ultimate New Golf Swing

August 14th, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

When you start to become an experienced golfer, you can just feel when you go into your downswing as you reach the peak of your backswing.  When you reach this point, it’s a good golf swing technique.

Is this a little confusing?  Don’t worry, it just means we’re about to talk to the hands.  When you head up to the top of your new golf swing, the upper arm leverage becomes apparent.  You can feel the control that is building up in the hands, wrists, arms, and shoulder.  Almost like a jet engine warming up before it goes from 0 to a gazillion MPH off a carrier.

Obviously you want to have a smooth fluent motion going from your golf backswing to you downswing, but it’s a little more difficult then it sounds.  Everything must be done in reverse when you’re coming back down.  The goal here is to have a motion that works as one when you’re coming back down to hit the ball.

Unfortunately, many golfers mistakenly swing harder in the downswing and think it will bring more power.  The end result usually ends up either right or left of the fairway.  However, if you slow down the action and feel the power shoot up your arm, it is like a sense that tells you to pause at the top of the backswing and shift downward.

The downswing then gives you the opportunity to slow the drive of your hands and inner arm across the body. Then of course you have to remember the shift of weight in the lower portion of your body with the shaft of the club behind the hands.

When you do this, it will allow you to have the power in your hands when you reach the top of the swing.  It will also give the hands the ability to work more freely.  This results in keeping the club face square and gives you more power when driving through the ball.

You will notice that the head will then come in where it is almost level with the golf ball.  If you are doing this correctly, your club head will be set in an 8 o’ clock position or even nine.  However, you won’t see it any lower.

It’s probably one of the most difficult positions of your golf swing and one I see students struggle with all the time.  What it comes down to is if you can master this technique like many other golfers, the end result will be unprecedented in your golf scores.  Anyone who can have constant accuracy with any club will be able to have a hitting line that is repetitive.

I’ll tell you what, here’s a good way to look at it.  If you have a mediocre golfer with a nice shapely swing and unsure about the delivery, there’s a reason for it.  It most likely has to do with the hand control and timing that makes a golfer feel uncomfortable and will wind up varying the position of the club head.  What ends up happening is the release into the hitting area is constantly altered.

A good way to figure this out is by setting up four or five balls and pitch them on the green with the trusty 7-iron.  If you’re having problems you will notice that one ball will end up on the back of the green, one on the front, one short, one left, and probably one right.  Try doing it during your golf short game and you’ll end up all over the course.

The only way to fix this is by working and training yourself to give your hands enough room.  If you can’t bring the club into the appropriate position, you won’t be able to feel like you’re hitting the ball off the carpet.

Does this make a little more sense?  You have to shape the delivery the same way you did the swing.  Just remember that you need to train your hands to hit that eight o’ clock position.  If you can wait for it, the power will be able to pour back into the ball.

You just have to want to get the right golf swing technique.  Do this and you’ll improve it dramatically.

How To Significantly Improve Your Golf Game using new golf swing

August 5th, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

The key to becoming a significantly better golfer is maintaining a high level of focus and remaining determined. By remaining determined, optimistic, and focused, you will be able to lower your golf score quickly.

Being confident in your golfing abilities is also important to lowering your golf score. If you are not confident you might accidently miss strike a ball resulting in a bad play. Being decisive and focused is the key to becoming the best golfer you can be.

Golfers that are not confident and are not decisive will usually have an extremely high golf score. This is because they are jittery before they take each shot. This usually results in them making a bad play. You should try and visualize each shot before you take it to ensure making a good play.

Many amateur golfers make the mistake of not practicing important approach shots on a daily basis. The best golfers constantly practice vital approach shots because it gives them the opportunity to lower their overall score. By practicing these approach shots you will be able to get birdie after birdie during your golf game. This daily practice will give you the confidence that you need to attack the green accurately and efficiently. Eventually this practice will allow you to play with longer clubs so that you can hit the ball farther and with increased accuracy.

The pitch shot is a shot that is extremely similar to the high pitch-and-run shot. On the other hand, the low pitch-and-run shot results in significantly less carry with significantly more run. This can be a great thing in certain golf scenarios. One of the best golf scenarios for this type of shot is when you have a strong wind. Having your club in a hooded position is the key to successfully taking this type of a shot. You should also be leaning back slightly on your back foot when taking this type of a shot. These considerations should also be remembered during a run-up with a club that is straight instead of hooded. The specific club that you use for this specific type of club is completely up to you, but the five-iron works well!

Playing a ball from the rough is one of the most daunting tasks that you can face during a golf short game. When playing from the rough, there are several key things that you are going to want to take into consideration. Putting any type of spin, specifically back spin is more difficult in the rough than it is in the fairway. You should remember that the ball will roll more when striking a ball from the rough. For this reason, you strike the ball with less power because it is going to roll more.

Being a successful golfer has a lot to do with your stance. One of the most important parts of a good stance is having a lot of weight on your left foot. Many golfers make the mistake of leaning back on their right foot when they are in a difficult spot or situation. Gripping the club too tightly is also a mistake that many amateur golfers make. Gripping the club too tightly can result in a bad shot. You should always use a moderate grip even when you are in a difficult situation.

Mastering the bunker stroke is also an important part of developing your golf game.

If your golf ball gets a decent lie in a bunker then the stroke you need to make is quite easy. The ideal situation is to have the ball sitting on top of fine and dry sand. If your ball is in this situation then you will have an extremely easy stroke to make!

Heavy-sand irons are the best types of golf clubs to use in this type of a situation. It is also extremely important to lay the face of your iron back slightly. This results in the club being in the opposite position that it would be in when hooding the club. Your stance is extremely important as well and it should be open. Your feet should be fairly close together, approximately shoulder width apart. Having your feet planted firmly in the ground is also extremely important. Many amateur golfers make the mistake of slipping during their new golf swing. By planting your feet firmly in the ground you will make sure you don’t slip during your swing. When striking a ball that is in a bunker you should not strike the ball itself, but you should strike the sand that is several inches before the ball.

Playing a ball in the fairway is much less difficult than playing a ball in the bunker is. You should always strike the actual ball when striking the ball in the fairway. Yet, when striking the ball in a bunker you should strike the sand that is several inches before the ball. You should NEVER strike the ball itself when it is in the sand trap. This will result in the ball going deeper down into the sand instead of into the bunker. During your stroke your club should slowly move back outside the line and then swing down normally. This will allow you to successfully play the ball out of the sand trap.

If you do everything properly the iron will drop into the sand and the ball will fly out onto the green. By doing this properly you will create a cushion of sand on the edge of the club. This cushion of sand will allow you to gently play the ball up and onto the green or fairway.

You should never manipulate the club head when trying to play a ball out of a sand trap. Many new golfers make the big mistake of trying to manipulate the head of the club. You should always try to remain the angle as well as the shape of the club. Another mistake that a lot of people make is allowing their wrist to roll over throughout a shot. Maintaining the length of your golf backswing as well as your follow-through is also important when hitting a ball out of the bunker. You should always attempt to maintain your focus when taking this type of a shot.

If you are able to master the bunker shot you will be able to significantly decrease your score and become a better golfer at the same time!

Golf Ball Striking Tips - Amend the Golf Swing

While dealing the ball, most of the players bow ahead about 36 degrees. The fair golfer will normally set up with either too many or too brief forward bending making them to lift the superior body at the top of the golf shot and at impact. This nearly always finishes in variant shot making and large golf scores. Here are some golf ball striking tips to hold those scores down.

Proper Shoulder Tilt: Important golf ball Striking Tips

Proper shoulder tilt is the important golf ball striking tip which plays a vital role in golf ball striking and the whole golf shot. Its major work is on heavy shift during the shot. The fair golfer will arrange with even shoulders and no shoulder inclination. This will make them to incline towards the aim with their shoulders.
Most skilled golfers will incline their shoulders little to the right when dealing the ball. This will help to locating their body backside the ball at the correct spot for an efficient weight shift during the shot and for this it is also important to know golf ball position tips. Pay care to the shoulder from the top of the shot, to ball impact. One wants the backbone to move further to the right on the downturn. One of the most important golf ball striking tips is keeping the shoulders in the right way.

Increase Side Bend

While one is in the center of the shot at the golf club is at the top, one will want to try and raise the side inclination. In order to rise the side incline, one need to incline the upper body little to the right by 10 degrees or greater. It assists them to feel like they are moving the top of the spine away from the aim than the bottom in the center of the back swing.
As one begins to bring the golf club down to hit the ball then one need to tardily move the top of the spine further away from the aim. Try and incline the backbone about 20 degrees. This will locate the right shoulder just below the left shoulder as one swing the golf club to shot the ball. This will assist to assure that the club is on the correct path by the downswing, and assist to maximize club head fastness. Do the last two golf ball striking tips, and the golf game will actually profit.
