Golf Instruction Plus Golfing To Relax

August 16th, 2010 Senior Golf 0 Comment

When I used to be a youngster growing up I would listen to my grandpa talk about golfing with his buddies and how he would dedicate the complete day trying to defeat his friends scores. He would tell me how taking time to enjoy golf with his friends was a good way to alleviate stress that had built up from his week at work. I actually did not understand how trying to whack a little white ball into a small hole might be relaxing. Nonetheless after I got a little older I noticed that my grandpa and his friends had been utilizing the golf course as a spot to essentially hang out. I believe hanging at the golf course was much better than simply visiting at one of their own places of residence.

It wasn’t much longer until I started highschool and started making friends of my own that were interested in playing golf on the weekends. This subsequently had me curious about finding a place to get some good golf instruction. I rapidly discovered that my buddies were receiving their golf instruction from the highschool we were attending. I wasn’t able to enroll since we were in the middle of a semester so my chums helped me learn as much as is possible. Having a golf lesson from buddies that are still learning the sport themselves wasn’t a extraordinarily smart decision. However , I did learn how to whack the ball and even began going with chums to enjoy golf on the weekends.

Playing golf on the weekends gave me an even bigger understanding why my grandpa spent his time at the course. When you are on the golf course there’s no considering homework or reports your teacher or administrator would prefer you to finish. All cut offs are put aside and for once the day is yours permitting rest and finally a good time with your friends.

Playing golf with your friends is a great way to chill but it can also bring out the competitive side in you regardless of if it’s just being competitive with yourself. Continuously trying to reach a better score on each hole will have your buddies pressing to do the same. This is the reason why finding golf instruction from a pro golf instructor will not just help you have some fun on the course but it will also help you beat your friends that show up with a competitive attitude.

The older I get the more i understand that some individuals are golfing as a way of working out. If you’ve never went golfing then you should take a golf swing lesson to feel the effects for yourself. Give it some thought, you’re walking around a course with several hills and continually swinging a club to get to the next hole. It’s not tough to burn a few hundred calories in one hour of playing golf. Since golf is a means of working out you will need to be certain and stay hydrated. Not drinking enough liquid can lead you to become dehydrated and wipe out the physical advantages that you would generally achieve while playing a round of golf.

Going golfing to relax and socialize with your buddies in my opinion is fantastic treatment when trying hard to forget about a difficult week at work or college. So discover golf instruction schools to get some good golf lessons and start benefiting from the emotional and physical aspects of this fantastic game.

Scouting For Great Golf Instruction Facilities

August 2nd, 2010 Senior Golf 0 Comment

So you’re thinking about golf instruction and aren’t quite sure where to begin your search for hometown golf instruction. Taking golfing instruction regardless of whether you’re sincere about the sport or merely seeking to socialize and have a good time may help you gain a better appreciation of the game and its rules. There are many spots to start your search nevertheless the easiest would be to pull up your internet browser and just type in a keyword and the city. For example if you lived in Dallas you would enter “golf lessons Dallas” excluding the quotes. I’ve discovered that putting the town after the keyword often returns the most impressive results. Other ways to investigate and find spots to get golf instruction is generally to contact your hometown golf course or sporting products shop. These spots will usually have contact info for PGA golfing instructors in your area. Also, many golf clubs will have instructors that are either on staff or contracting to use the facility for instruction.

There are several unique things to consider when exploring a wonderful place for golf instruction. If you’re looking for your kid then I would like to advise beginning with the high school systems. Learn if their college offers a course in golf instruction. You may also find that some high schools offer training for adults also.

When exploring for golf instruction I’ve revealed that many folks look at the level of the golf instructor while others will investigate the facility and location. One other thing to take into account when exploring spots for golf instruction would be the pricetag. Basing your decision on just one of these factors would be like a horse wearing blinders. I would recommend choosing a place near your house first then exploring the coach and cost. It’s likely not a bad idea to drive to a place further away from your house if it implies improving golf instruction for you or your child particularly if contemplating the sport as a professional career. Don’t be frightened to ask your potential golfing instructor about their qualifications as well as referrals that you will call. View one of the golfing instructor’s sessions to get an idea of just how much one-to-one instruction you’ll receive if you’re attending a group golf lesson. Then ensure that the facility meets your level of comfort. After all , most people learn faster when the environment is cushty and relaxing. Having the ability to relax and communicate with your golf instructor will prove very advantageous in your ability to excel at a faster pace than if you’re studying from a place that tends to make you uncomfortable.

Choosing a facility that offers group golf instruction would certainly save you money over the cost of one-to-one personal golfing instruction. If a facility does offer group golf instruction be sure to find out how huge the group will be for each training session. Usually a large group won’t give you enough focused attention from the golfing instructor at last costing you time and money not spent wisely. But if the group golf instruction is constrained to a small size of 4 to six scholars at a time then you would stand to benefit from the instruction.

There also are many spots to consider golf instruction that offer excellent training aids which help the golf instructor better critique your current skills as well as better track your success. While training aids are provoking and they without doubt have a part to play in training the newbie, nothing is better than top quality head to head golf instruction with a professional who knows and enjoys the game.

Bear in mind, mastering golf, as with any tutorial process, can only be completed if the individual getting the lesson is prepared to practice outside of the sessions. Training daily and putting into action what you’ve learned on a constant basis is the best way to enhance your recently gained golf skills.

Help Your Golf Swing, Help Your Golf Score

December 29th, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

Most golfers will say the hardest part of their game is focus. The mental side of golf is often misunderstood. Do you have a friend that golfs well on every round? Why is that? Practice, they practice. What they don’t tell you, is what they practice at. When you are talking about a game that is referred to as 90% mental and 10% talent you have to work on your mental toughness. When overcoming that mental side of golf, do you try to change your equipment, the time at which you play, maybe even they guys you play with. Here we go, some tips that are going to help get you on your way to being a better golfer.

The tempo of golf is often a distraction for golfers, you are stuck behind a slow foursome DISTRACTING or maybe the guys behind you are rushing you DISTRACTING and you feel that pressure to golf faster. The tempo of the course should never affect the tempo of your swing. The tempo of your swing is so important; to achieve the desired results. How do I find MY tempo you ask? A golfer can find their tempo by doing these simple things:

SLOW DOWN!! People often think that if they can swing faster and hit the ball harder they will get results, this is not the case at all. SLOW DOWN and focus on YOUR tempo not the tempo of the game. This is true is some instances, but, for the sake of this article we will not be discussing those concepts. The tempo we are going to discuss today, is going to deal with how you approach every single shot in your game, you need to have the same back swing, contact, and follow through on every swing. How are you going to practice this TEMPO? Go to the driving range and practice with one club at a time. First hit 20 range balls with your driver, next hit 20 range balls with your 9 iron, Next your 3 wood and your 8 iron follow this method until you have hit every club in your bag. To perfect your back swing come to the same position every time. No matter what club you are using the ball wants to be hit in the same place at the same speed every time. People often think that the club should dictate your tempo, this could not be further from the truth. If you focus on your tempo you will see that by swinging all of your clubs the same your accuracy will improve drastically. When you are working on your follow through it will be the same as your back swing, you will want it to be the same with every club. How you follow through directly affect your accuracy. When you focus on these three techniques you will find that your mental game will improve.

After you have put in your work at the range, head on over to start working on your chipping. Start by working with your wedges, then move on to you short irons. Practice 100 chips with each club. Start with your wedges in the deeper grass and focus not on getting in the hole but just putting the ball on the green. When chipping just focus on your tempo, using the same stroke every time. Remember chipping should be another tool in your arsenal and not the final result. Many careers have been made from singles and doubles hitters it is not just the home run hitters that decide how games turnout. Stay focused and you will hit the green every time. The 8i and 9i will be used to work out the tempo of the bump and run technique. Tempo is still your main focus you are just using a club for a different shot, the tempo is still the same though. Find your tempo and stick with it!! It would be like you are still hitting one of your wedges, you change clubs not the tempo!!

Putting Putting Putting! This is not rocket science but yet very misunderstood? We have now gone from Driving range tempo to chipping tempo to putting tempo the TEMPO does not change only the environment. While practicing don’t worry about how far or where the ball goes work on keeping your tempo the same every time. You are never going to change your swing for a putt. The only part about putting that changes is the distance. Start by sinking 10 putts in a row from 1ft away after you have done this, move out to 2ft, repeat until you sink 10 in a row from 10ft away. Keep the same tempo.

The goal for these exercises is to teach your to go through the same steps every time. You are trying to create a tempo that you are going to follow, now matter what is going on around you. If you focus on the tempo you will see results!! If you want the proven results of the pros you need to create a time line in your mind (90% mental) that you will follow no matter where you are, or whom you are playing with. When your body starts to do the same thing every single time, your mind will become more focused on the task at hand.

Golf Lessons Online Help You To Improve Your Swing In Record Time

Most of the time, taking golf lessons involves going to see a golf pro to get their help on improving your game. You pay whatever the trainer charges for their time and you probably learned a lot in a short span of time - but how much of this do you retain? Even with an exceptionally talented golf instructor, you probably have a hard time remembering everything that they teach you in a lesson - this is where taking golf lessons online can be helpful.

Taking some web based lessons can be a great help as you learn the game or work to improve your skills. Online Golf Instructions are like having a refresher course which you can refer to at any time so that you will not forget what you learn on the course. Even if you are not taking lessons from an expert, you can get off to a great start with online courses.

Get Rid of the Back Golf Swing Dip

The PurePoint Golf swing theory points you in the right direction and gives you a system of fundamentals to measure yourself against. In golf this is really important; however situations arise where you just can’t figure out why you are having certain difficulties. Whether your problem is hitting behind the ball or hitting the golf ball thin, sometimes we are clueless to where the problem lies.

We instruct/teach a fairly horizontal swing plane in comparison to most. Even though there are major benefits to this version of the swing certain complications can arise very quickly. This tip in particular was designed to stop golfers from hitting behind the ball. My objective is to inform you of all areas of the golf swing, then when certain situations arise, you can adjust accordingly. And ultimately check points pre established.

  • The player(s) back shoulder in his/her backswing drops down; meaning that the back shoulder is lowering towards the ground. This is hard to do when you don’t have lateral movement or weight shift back and away from the target, as we teach. However, this is common among golfers who have a horizontal swing plane. The tendency is to drop your back shoulder as your swing plane becomes more horizontal.
  • Please understand that if you lower your back shoulder in your backswing this could cause many different problems in you swing. Your timing, hand position at impact, weight shift through the golf ball, and follow-through position could all be negatively affected.

Solution

  • Fortunately there is simple solution. Go to the range and take a golf ball. Place the golf ball underneath your back foot (please make sure that half the ball is in the ground so that you don’t fall over). If a ball doesn’t feel right use a towel or something that is at least an inch off the ground. The ball/object needs to be placed underneath your back heel in order to ensure that you have no weight transfer and that your back shoulder does not dip in your backswing.
  • Then simply take your normal swing. If you choose you can hit a ball or you can just take a few practice swings. Focus on not dipping your shoulder in your backswing (keep your back shoulder up and not down). I guarantee that if you master this drill you will make firm contact with the ball on a more consistent basis.
  • This drill will force you to practice a swing with no weight shift back and away from your target and simultaneously help you with dipping the back shoulder.

Practice this golf drill and be aware that if you are having difficulty hitting behind the ball at any point in your round, the problem could lie in shoulder position in your backswing. To learn more go to PurePoint Golf Instruction

A Golf Fitness Coach Equals Magnificent Golf

December 11th, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

Golf fitness coach. Have you always considered one…and if so, what technically were you looking for? There are many ‘general fitness’ trainers trying to purchase a piece of the golf fitness and training market that seems to be quickly gaining exposure equally on the television and in print thanks to Tiger, Vijay and Annika.

But the first thing you require to believe when looking into hiring a golf fitness coach or program is the trainers experience in golf.

Yes…that is high on the list of requirements. Does he/she know golf? Do they know the biomechanics of the golf swing? How about muscle function during the golf swing?

An simple test is during the initial interview or if you’re researching it online is to either ask very golf specific swing technique questions; or take a look at the fact on the website. You’ll discover out real quick if this person or program be able to make easier your golf swing, game and health.

A golf fitness coach or program be supposed to incorporate power, flexibility, endurance, body awareness, balance, stability and even a nutrition component.

It’s easy for a trainer to have a strength component…but is it specific to golf? A quick test. Take a look at a few of the exercises. Are some of them on seated machines for instance? If they are…run! This is NOT a golf fitness coach and/or program. This is considered ‘common fitness’.

Currently stretching. There are dozens of stretches for every public. But take a look at a few of them. Do they even remotely look like they will improvement your golf swing?

Stretches involving trunk flexibility; lower back; hamstring; and even shoulders specific to the mechanics of the swing are what you desire. Familiar stretches are greater than nothing, but will delay your results. You decide specific stretches.

Body awareness. Does several of the exercises resemble golf positions or phases of the swing? Do they look like you would be on your feet and inside your golf posture? Because stated on top of, if they are seated on machines, your body will learn nothing in regards to your golf swing.

Training your body specific to golf incorporates positions almost identical to what your body would be in during any part of the golf swing.

Stability. Training your body to increase stability inside your swing can get a little complex if you actually want to see results. The swing happens at between 80-100 miles an hour. One of the biggest flaws of amateur golfers is moving in their golf swing.

Moving either laterally (sliding), vertically (up and done) or together. This is death to your golf swing. To increase your stability involves specific strength drills most trainers don’t even know about.

I may perhaps go on-and-on about the requirements of a golf fitness coach or program. It is critical you make the exact decision. I have heard horror stories of golfers working using ‘so-called’ golf fitness experts and their game getting worse. With the proper research this won’t happen to you. So definitely believe a golf fitness coach.

Golf Fitness Assists Generate More Speed Inside Your Swing!

December 11th, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

The golfing industry speaks about clubhead speed constantly. We see advertised inside the golf magazines every the time. We hear about it on the Golf Channel endlessly

Clubhead speed is more a result of what you do with the golf club than an entity of its own. A driver is not going to generate clubhead speed on its’ own! Someone has to swing it!

Clubhead speed is contingent upon swing speed. Swing speed is directly related to the person swinging the golf club. So the question to essentially ask is:

How Do I Develop Huge Gains inside My Swing Speed?

Another term directly related to swing speed and clubhead speed is power.

Extra Power = Extra Swing Speed = More Clubhead Speed

Bottom line is we are looking to increasing the strength outputs of your golf swing. This will let for an improve in swing speed. An boost in swing speed translates to extra clubhead speed.

So how do we enhance the power in our golf swing?

Two aspects require tuning and development of you wish to increase the strength in your golf swing.

-  Number One: Enhance Your Swing Mechanics

-  Number Two: Enhance Your Body

Developing optimal swing mechanics is the first section of the equation to excellent power.

The golf swing is one of the most difficult, finite, and complex athletic movements performed. Since a result, it requires time spent on the refinement of the movements involved.

Some athletic movement, the golf swing included, be able to be performed efficiently or inefficiently.

An efficient golf swing allows for the highest percentage of strength generated by the golfer to be translated into the club, and delivered into the golf ball. An inefficient golf swing decreases the quantity of power delivered to golf swing.

Efficient Golf Swing Mechanics = High Power Outputs

Inefficient Golf Swing Mechanics = Low Strength Outputs

A pretty simple equation if you think about it.

Currently how do you develop efficient golf swing mechanics?

Through a method of proper instruction, proper usage, and era. The body be able to learn either the exact or wrong way to swing a golf club. In order to learn the exact way to swing a golf club, proper instruction is essential.

Secondly, the body learns through repetition. Inside order to learn efficient golf swing mechanics it is necessary to usage the correct way to swing. Finally, this practice takes period.

The body will not learn how swing a golf club correctly inside a day. It takes consistent period spent on the swing.

Putting it in math terms, the equation for efficient golf swing mechanics is:

Proper Instruction + Proper Exercise + Era = Efficient Golf Swing Mechanics

Unfortunately, efficient golf swing mechanics is simply one-half of the equation to increasing clubhead speed, swing speed, and power.

The second half is your body.

The golf club cannot develop strength on its own. It is a combination of developing efficient golf swing mechanics and a body that can generate power.

A Body that can Generate Power = Increased Clubhead Speed

Your body swings the club through the mechanics of the golf swing. Inside order to perform this efficiently and powerfully requires the development of certain disciplines within your body.

Generating power inside the golf swing requires your body to be:

-  Flexible

-  Strong

-  Powerful

The development of these three disciplines within your body allows the foundation to swing the golf club using more power.

If your body is inflexible, weak, and powerless, generating clubhead speed will be very not easy, agree to alone performing the mechanics of the golf swing correctly. How do you develop such a body for the golf swing?

Quite only by implementing a golf fitness program. A golf fitness program will develop the requisite flexibility, strength, and power necessary of the golf swing.

It comes down to this equation:

Efficient Golf Swing Mechanics + A Flexible, Strong, & Powerful Body = Increased Clubhead Speed

Put in place a plan to develop efficient golf swing mechanics and a powerful body. The swing speed and clubhead speed you want be able to be a fact. Remember; proper instruction, exercise, period, and golf fitness training are the keys to extra strength, more swing speed, and more clubhead speed.

More Power in Your Game

GENERATE POWER AT SETUP

We all want more power and distance.  Regardless of whether you hit the ball 200 or 300 yards, adding an extra 10-15 yards to your driver gives any player confidence and a decisive advantage over the competition.  Over the years as I have taught online golf lessons, many golfers have emailed me consistently with a breakdown of distance per club.  They also provide where they would like to get to; usually 10-15 yards increase off the tee and from the fairway with their irons. The following tip is suggested to players who want an easy way to create extra distance off the tee.I do not recommend this set-up from the fairway or around the green, but it will give you and extra 10-15 yards off the tee. The is a simple breakdown including different ways that power and distance is generated in our golf swing (I want you to understand what generates power):

  • Solid Ball Contact:  Not on heel or toe.
  • Hand Rotation through the impact zone.
  • Weight shift through the swing (i.e. ball).
  • Follow Through position: This is more of a check point.  Club face up at follow-through = less power.Club face down at follow-through = greater power.

Problem Lack of distance off the tee. Solution I am going to teach you a modified set-up that will allow for maximum power generation.Normally players that have a slight draw generate greater distance than players that hit a fade, so this set-up will put you in a position to hit a draw. This is also true for PGA tour golfers.  The following, are steps to modify your set-up in order to allow for maximum distance generation:

  • Go through your normal set-up routine as we teach in the DVD.And don’t foget to bend at the hips and not the stomach.
  • Close your stance: Move your trailing foot back so that your toes are parallel to the middle of your leading foot.
  • Put a little more weight on your front foot: Instead of 50/50 you will have 60% on your leading leg and 40% of your weight on your trailing leg.In essence you’ll almost be leaning a little forward at set-up.
  • Knee bend stays the same and take your normal swing, focusing on really shifting your weight and rotating your hands through the impact zone.

These modifications place your body in a more powerful position at set-up. Again remember only implement this set-up off the tee.You can try it with your irons on the practice range, & if you see amazing results then play with it on the course, but please don’t change your entire set-up for your irons.  This tip is simply a modification to add extra distance off the tee. Exercise For A Golfer, Don’t Fear it

November 2nd, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

Exercise for a golfer is widely used. Because of golf-specific exercises, many amateur golfers still shun any golf specific exercises, despite the success many professionals have enjoyed, and continue to enjoy in their game, mainly .

Even when it is rather obvious that leading names in the game like the legendary Tiger Woods heavily rely on staying in good shape for the game by having personal trainers and by being involved in golf specific exercises.

By far the main reason why most still fear and avoid exercise for golfers is the belief that they will develop muscles. Actually lifting weights are a very effective way of toning the golf-specific muscles for the game, by strengthening them. Strength training using weights will never increase the size of your muscles.

Nobody would loathe building big muscles more than most lady golfers. By increasing their strength through golf-specific weight training, yet many of them have dramatically improved their games.

Actually lifting very heavy weights to develop a weight-lifters’ muscles, you need to be in the gym several hours a day . Compared to a weightlifter looking for muscles with heavier weights lifted fewer times at a time but for longer hours daily, the weight-lifting exercise regime for golf involves lifting lighter weights many more times over a very short period of time.

Should be encouragement enough for many amateurs to seriously consider exercise for a golfer programs, the fact that many lady golfers have been able to dramatically improve their game by getting involved in exercises for a golfers, but have not build heavy stiff muscles.

Apart from weights, most of the exercises for a golfer involve stretch exercises designed to improve a golf swing. Some of these stretch exercises for a golfer could easily be done form the comfort of an office or home when you have a moment to spare.

A Golf Weight Training Program, do You Fear ?

October 25th, 2009 Senior Golf 0 Comment

Golf weight training program. In a sport that hardly has any controversies; few issues have come as close to being controversial as golf weight training programs have. More so amateurs and non-professional golfers.

A golf weight training program need not be controversial at all, if you really examine the facts .

Although professionals have now fully embraced the benefit of golf weight training programs, amongst the other golfers golf weight training programs are still looked on with a lot of fear and apprehension. These fears are of course mainly based on ignorance rather than enough solid facts and knowledge.

One of the greatest fears is that some of the golf weight training programs designed to build strength are too strenuous. Others fear that they will develop great big muscles that will make them stiff and yet flexibility is an important attribute for any golfer.

These fears are of course completely unjustified. Most golf weight training program have been successfully complete by golfers who are as old as 80 years old. Junior golfers barely in their teens have also graduated from the same programs without any problem. Not to mention lady golfers some of who was senior citizens.

Golf weight training programs are designed to increase strength and not to body build or build great huge muscles, then it is significant to note . Use of dumbbells is different for the 2 different objectives. For example lighter weights is used and they are lifted more times than the case would be for a bodybuilder dealing in much heavier weights.

Many good golf will also include certain stretch exercises using them on their weight training programs involving dumbbells . Stretch exercises are very good in improving golf swings.

When you take a closer look, golf weight training programs are really not be feared. Rather they should be embraced as they have help many golfers revolutionize their games.

There is no doubt that the importance of a golf weight training program will continue to rise in the years to come.
